Ausgewählte Förderprogramme

Human Frontier Science Program

für die internationale Zusammenarbeit in der Grundlagenforschung zur Erforschung der komplexen Mechanismen lebender Organismen.

Research Grants: (1) "Early Career" and (2) all career stages: 3 Jahre Support für Teams mit 2- 4 Mitgliedern. Die Grants sind Festbeträge, die von der Teamgröße abhängen.
Postdoctoral Fellowships: Langzeitstipendien (LTF) für Bewerber mit einem Doktortitel zu einem biologischen Thema; interdisziplinäre Stipendien (CDF) für Bewerber mit einem Doktortitel aus einer nicht-biologischen Disziplin (z. B. Physik, Chemie, Mathematik, Ingenieur- oder Computerwissenschaften), die zuvor nicht in den Biowissenschaften gearbeitet haben.

Submission of project proposals is possible until 24 September 2025, 12 p.m. (noon) CEST, via the CORNET Submission Tool. Please use the latest templates for the current call for your application.

Participation in a CORNET project allows SMEs, SME associations or groups and research organisations to build up an international network and to benefit from know-how and resources that might not be available in their country or region. CORNET features high success rates and short time to contract.

EMBO Fellowships and Grants

Postdoctoral Fellowships: EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships support scientists to carry out research for a period of up to two years. International mobility is a key requirement. Next Deadline: 4th Friday of January, 14:00 CEST

Scientific Exchange Grants: EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants support new, international collaborations, enabling the transfer of expertise unavailable in the applicant’s laboratory. The grants fund research visits of up to three months. Applications accepted throughout the year

Young Investigator Programme: The EMBO Young Investigator Programme supports group leaders in the early stages of setting up their independent laboratories for a period of four years. Networking is a key aspect of the programme. Application deadline: 1st April

Installation Grants: EMBO Installation Grants fund group leaders in the early stages of setting up their independent laboratories in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal or Turkey for three to five years. Networking is a key aspect of the programme. Application deadline: 15 April

Global Investigator Network: The EMBO Global Investigator Network supports scientists in the early stages of setting up their independent laboratories in Chile, India, Singapore or Taiwan for a period of four years. It provides funding for networking, collaboration and training activities. Application deadline is 2 May, 09:00 AM (CEST)

Fulbright Grants & Fellowships

Die Deutsch-Amerikanische Fulbright-Kommission (Fulbright Germany) ermöglicht den akademischen Austausch zwischen den USA und Deutschland. Fulbright Germany vergibt jährlich bis zu 700 Stipendien für Studien-, Forschungs-, Lehr- und Weiterbildungsaufenthalte in den USA und Deutschland und fördert damit aktiv den transatlantischen Dialog.

Doktorand:innenprogram: 4 bis 6-monatige Forschungsaufenthalte in den USA mit Aufenthaltsbeginn ab dem 01.08. 2026. Bewerbungsfrist ist der 01.11.2025

Forschung & Lehre: 3-9 Monate an eine US-Hochschule oder Forschungseinrichtung. Antragsfristen: 01.10. + 01.05.

Die Beratung erfolgt durch das Akademische Auslandsamt (F. Schenk, Dr. B. Gehring).
