ERC (European Research Council) - projects are the most prestigious individual grants awarded by the EU and are distinguished by their excellence in terms of concept, implementation and impact within their respective scientific fields. When submitting your application, you must demonstrate that your project is “breakthrough”, highly innovative and transformative – i.e. that it has the potential to fundamentally redefine entire fields of research. there is the new ERC Plus Grant,which has been specifically designed for particularly large-scale, transformative research projects. All Principal Investigators holding one of the ERC frontier research main grants (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced or Synergy), and who aim to explore the commercial or societal potential of their work, are eligible to participate and apply for an ERC Proof of Concept Grant.
